Prof. Joachim Radkau, an emeritus professor at the University of Bielefeld in Germany, is considered one of the leading representatives of environmental history in the German-speaking world. We were fortunate to listen his keynote lecture at the First Conference on the Environmental History of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey at the University of Hamburg in October 2017.
Now, we are happy to share the information that his book, Nature and Power: A Global History of the Environment, has been translated into Turkish. Originally published in German with the title Natur und Macht. Eine Weltgeschichte der Umwelt in 2000, the book was published in English in 2008 and received the prestigious World History Association Book Award a year later.
The Turkish translation of Nature and Power: A Global History of the Environment has been published by Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları with the title Doğa ve İktidar: Global Bir Çevre Tarihi.
